Update on Former WWE Star Elijah’s AEW/ROH Status

Former WWE star Elias, also known as Ezekiel, is not signed with Tony Khan’s company despite recent speculation about his potential deal with AEW and Ring of Honor. Fightful Select confirmed that Elijah, as he is now known, has not officially joined AEW or ROH. This clarification comes after he was spotted in a social media video with The Righteous, a tag team in AEW/ROH. Additionally, Elijah recently competed in the 2025 Jericho Cruise, where he suffered a loss to Tommy Billington.

Dave Meltzer, in a recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, initially reported that Elijah had signed with AEW. He noted that while The Righteous has made appearances on AEW television, they are primarily ROH talent. Meltzer further suggested that if Tony Khan was actively signing new stars, it could indicate optimism for securing a media rights deal for ROH. However, according to Fightful’s report, Elijah’s signing is not confirmed.

Reports indicate that TNA has also expressed interest in acquiring Elijah’s talent. Following his WWE release in 2024, Elijah was asked about potential moves to AEW or TNA but stated that he intended to wrestle in Japan, particularly with NJPW. Notably, if Elijah were to join TNA, it would place him in an interesting position given TNA’s multi-year partnership with WWE, established at the beginning of 2025.

Before his appearance on the Jericho Cruise, Elijah’s last match was a loss to Red Scorpion for the Wrestling Megastar Italian Title. His most recent match in the United States was another defeat, where he lost the IWC Super Indy Title to Sam Holloway in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
